Just a bit of a warning here.

I've played MH3 quite a bit over the last couple of weeks and it's pretty much the only thing i'd bothered with on the TV in the last week (I never watch TV anyway and had been really tired, so bit of hunting then bed).

I used one of the brighter defaults on my TV for a bit to allow me to see properly in the unlit areas on Monster Hunter, which may have been partially responsible.

Anyway, turned my PS3 on to see the health bar and logo in the upper left of my screen showing in the nice pastel background of my PS3's screen.

Not good!

Fortunately it's not too bad when watching stuff, but still noticable if you know it's there.

I've since gone into my wii display settings and turned on the screen burn thingy (which was turned off as I don't have Plasma TV's and therefore can't get screen burn) and i've shifted the screen all the way to one side, will move that again soon to try to stop it happening again.

Anyway yeah, the wii + MH3 has basically knacked my TV, and at this point in time I can't finance a replacement, even though the same TV will be down to around £500-£600 now...so be careful of how much you play and your brightness settings.

Still not entirely sure how this has happened though, the TV is a few years old now and i've played many other games for longer periods without this happening, the only thing I can think of is that it's the way the TV processes analogue info as it's the only device I have that doesn't use a digital signal.

Unlucky dude.. :(

Already got all the screenburn/screensaver/auto-shutdown features activated on all my consoles.. even when I just had a run of the mill shit TV just for peace of mind. I'm always super paranoid about that as I often play till daft o'clock times and fall asleep with everything running.

It's a bit hit and miss but you could try setting up a blank, white image to display on the PS3 or a PC if you have a VGA in which I assume you do. Drop the brightness a little on the TV, leave it running for some time (suggested to leave as long as it took to get the original ghosting), and hope for the best.

As I say, hit and miss, but at the very least it may reduce the intensity of the MH screenburn a little.

Cheers dude, will give that a try and see if it reduced the intensity a bit.

I've contacted the manufacturer too, although don't hold out much hope for them having anything helpful to say about it.

Great excuse to buy a new TV (wanted a bigger one since we moved house) and can get a MUCH better one now for similar price to what I paid for this...could even get one with HD freeview built in.

Just bad timing, finances are currently in the "seriously contemplating bankruptcy" area and i'm getting married in a couple of months, how the hell that's gonna happen I don't know...wonder if the missus would be happy with cancelling the wedding to buy a new TV

Sorry to hear it mate, that sucks and now i am paranoid myself... Time to check the Wii settings methinks...

Oh and if you want to keep your bollocks in place i wouldn't even suggest cancelling the wedding mate! I did something similar with my wife as a joke and she actually didn't speak to me for a week and i spent a good few nights on the couch too.
Which worked out well in the end as i had loads of PS3 time lol.
